In Russia, commented on plans for the UK to get to the Arctic

The Russian general commented on London’s plans for a military presence in the Arctic.

The UK Department of Defense plans to increase its military presence in the Arctic. The goal is to protect the northern flank of NATO from Russia - such a message was sounded in a statement by British Defense Secretary Gavin Williams, quoted by The Daily Telegraph.

According to the minister, a new 10-year defense program provides for training up to 1,000 British marines annually in Norway. They will train together with their Norwegian colleagues. This will allow, over a short period of time, to have in the northern part of Norway an international military unit of brigade strength.

Changes touch and aviation. In 2020, the P-8 Poseidon will be able to fly over the arctic region. These are anti-submarine aircraft. They will be able to carry out the tasks of deterring the Russian submarine, since the Russian Federation has returned to the “level of the Cold War.

The Minister stressed that the British military will hone skills in freezing temperatures. With the help of aviation in the Arctic, foreign submarines will be tracked. This will be a vigilance against new challenges. This is what the British minister spoke about when he was at the Norwegian military base Bardufoss. It is there that British Marines serve.

As the name paper explains, in 2019, the X-NUMX of the P-9 aircraft will arrive in another military base in Scotland, called Lossimuth. Their task will be to patrol the Far North, as well as tracking foreign submarines, but also to protect British submarines.

The publication also notes that Williamson's visit to Norway took place at a time when criticism was intensified in his address, caused by his imprudent statement. The minister said that the UK has an intention to send an aircraft carrier to the shores of China. Thanks to this imprudent statement, the planned visit to Beijing of the head of the British Chancellery Philip Hammond was disrupted. For London, this visit was very important, and it was supposed to take place last weekend, February 16-17.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly stressed that Russia does not intend to attack anyone, and that it does not threaten anyone. As for her growing power, she is a guarantee of peace and stability on Earth.

Statements made by the British Defense Minister regarding the presence of the British military in the Arctic were commented on for the Military Review by Sergei Lipova, Chairman of the Presidium of the All-Russian organization Officers of Russia, Hero of Russia. He stressed that the shortest way to ensure a strike on the Russian Federation from the United States is the Arctic territory. Above it are the tracks of strategic bombers of the USAF. In the event of war, they can be sent to Russia. That is why the Americans and their NATO allies (in this case, the United Kingdom) spend huge sums to strengthen their presence in the Arctic region.

The general stresses that this was the reason why Russia resumed patrol flights over the Arctic, from the mainland to the North Pole. This patrol is performed by MiG-31 aircraft.

Lipovoy noted that the MiG-31 is capable of intercepting and destroying air targets at any altitude, under any meteorological conditions and at any time of the day. This aircraft meets all modern requirements in all its characteristics, and surpasses many modern aircraft in a number of indicators, including those represented in Western aviation.

And which side is closer to Alaska? The boats have already floated there ... in Norway, the shooters were frozen - diapers flowed - How will they be in the Arctic - will freeze again, are we guilty again
