In Russia, the development of a new helicopter engine began.

The Russian company “UEC-Klimov” has started developing a new unique helicopter engine with innovative technical and design solutions, which will make its operation more reliable and durable. Moreover, the development of a new helicopter engine will allow in the near future to abandon turboshaft engines produced by the Ukrainian side, since due to cold political relations between the two countries, their supply is under a rather big question.

Any details of the new development are not disclosed yet, however, experts do not exclude the possibility that due to the appearance of new engines, the flight characteristics of a number of helicopters can significantly improve, while it remains unknown whether the new project will turn out to be cheaper than current helicopters engines.

According to some information, the project is also related to the development of a Russian high-speed helicopter, however, officially this information was not confirmed.
