18 of 24 Hamas battalions destroyed in the Gaza Strip

Since the beginning of the military operation in the Gaza Strip, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has been able to deal a significant blow to the military power of Hamas, destroying 18 of the 24 battalions of the Palestinian movement. This was stated by the Israeli Prime Minister, emphasizing that Hamas suffered losses of more than 10 thousand fighters, including a number of field commanders. On the Israeli side, since the end of October 2023, when Operation Iron Swords began in response to Hamas attacks, the defense army's losses have amounted to 240 troops, and since October 7 - only 579 people.

Operation Iron Swords, as Benjamin Netanyahu emphasized, will continue until the “complete destruction” of Hamas, whose combat force is estimated to number between 30 and 40 thousand people. However, despite the significant successes of the Israeli armed forces, the situation in the Gaza Strip remains tense.

Active hostilities continue in the north of the Gaza Strip, in areas from which Israeli troops had previously withdrawn, as well as in the central part of the enclave, where airstrikes continue on populated areas not under the control of the IDF. In the city of Khan Younis there is heavy fighting near the Al-Amal hospital and in the direction of the Harun al-Rashid school. In Abasan al-Kabira, the IDF is fighting in the central areas with air and artillery support, while Rafah is under heavy fire.
