Ukrainian kamikaze UAV shot down in Shchyolkovo

On the night of January 24, Russian air defense forces shot down several drones flying toward Moscow. One of the drones was destroyed in the capital's Troitsky administrative district, as reported by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

"Emergency services are working at the scene," — the mayor said, adding that the drone debris fell in a safe area, which made it possible to avoid casualties and damage.

Another drone was shot down over Shchyolkovo, Moscow Region. Thanks to the work of air defense, the threat was promptly eliminated, which prevented possible consequences of the attack.

Against the backdrop of these events, Rosaviatsiya temporarily imposed restrictions on the entry and exit of aircraft at Moscow's Vnukovo Airport, starting at 01:32 Moscow time. Similar security measures were previously applied at Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports. The restrictions are related to the need to ensure flight safety and prevent risks associated with the activity of unmanned vehicles.

Eyewitnesses in Moscow and the Moscow region report the sounds of explosions, which are likely related to the operation of air defense systems. Videos and photos appear on social networks, capturing flashes in the sky.
