Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport is experiencing a real transport crisis: on July 5, 2025, the airport continued to experience massive delays and cancellations of flights on arrival and departure, mainly Aeroflot. Passengers report long waits, a lack of information and minimal support from the carrier. According to eyewitnesses, at least three Aeroflot flights have still not taken off from the previous day, and chaotic management of the situation is only exacerbating discontent.
Flight SU320 Sheremetyevo - Male, scheduled for 22:35 on July 5, became one of the most problematic. Passengers spent three hours on the plane, after which they were told that some people refused to fly and were being removed from the flight. Then the official reason for the delay was a change of pilots, and later - an inspection of the aircraft for compliance with safety requirements. The departure was repeatedly postponed: first to 7:00, then to 8:00, but even by this time the plane had not left the airport. Passengers complain about the lack of clear information: instead of management, they were sent to the rapid response team.
Flight SU1005 Kaliningrad - Sheremetyevo, which was scheduled to depart on July 5 at 16:35, was cancelled after almost ten hours of waiting. Passengers report that they were not provided with food, water or hotel accommodation. Conversations with airline representatives yielded no results, leaving people in the dark. A similar situation occurred with flights SU1317 and SU1323 from Murmansk to Moscow, which were also cancelled. Passengers were offered the next flights only on July 8, which caused outrage, especially among those who were planning transfers or urgent trips.
Flight SU1029 from Mineralnye Vody to Sheremetyevo, scheduled for 16:45 on July 5, is delayed by more than 15 hours. Passengers were checked into their hotel at 9am, but Aeroflot representatives did not provide an update on the new departure time. According to the online board, the flight was rescheduled for 40:6 on July XNUMX, but passengers claim they were not picked up from their hotel or notified of further action.
Flight SU1947 from Almaty to Sheremetyevo, originally scheduled for 17:10 on July 5, was rescheduled for 22:00 with the explanation that the crew needed rest. However, the flight never took off, and the passengers were sent to a hotel without further explanation.
According to RIA Novosti, 5 flights were cancelled at Sheremetyevo on July 174, 80% of which belonged to the Aeroflot group, and 47 flights were delayed for more than two hours. The main reason for the restrictions was said to be attacks by Ukrainian UAVs, due to which temporary bans on the use of airspace were introduced from 10:50 a.m. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported that air defense shot down four drones heading to the capital, which was the reason for introducing the "Carpet" plan. Rosaviatsia confirmed that after the restrictions were lifted, airports resumed operations, but the load on ground services increased sharply, which led to disruptions in service and baggage claim.
Telegram channel Baza reports that passengers spent more than nine hours at the airport, with queues forming at the information desks in the waiting rooms. Some, like members of the group "Brilliant", who were stuck on a flight from Tyumen, complained about the minimal supply of water and the lack of ramps for disembarking. A passenger on flight SU1962 to Astana said that his flight was delayed for 10 hours despite the lifting of restrictions, and the airline did not provide any food or accommodation.
