In Sweden, started mass production of "Russian Su destroyer"

The newest modification of the JAS 39 Gripen - Gripen E fighter developed by the Swedish company "Saab" went into the series.

Work on the new fighter JAS 39 Gripen company "Saab" began in 2013 year. His presentation took place in May 2016. For the first time in the 2017 year, the new fighter rose into the air.

The length of the fighter is 15,2 meters, width 8,6 meters. The machine has a maximum take-off weight of 16,5 tons. The aircraft has ten suspensions for armament. It is equipped with an automatic gun Mauser BK27 caliber 27 millimeters. The maximum speed of the aircraft - 2000 kilometers per hour.

The company concluded contracts for the supply of new aircraft to the Swedish and Brazilian Air Forces, respectively, for 60 and 36 machines. The company expects to manufacture 400 - 500 fighters. Some of them are for the Swedish Air Force, and some for overseas shipments.

The JAS 39 Gripen is a fourth generation multirole fighter. It was developed by Saab in the 1980s. The abbreviation JAS means - Jakt - fighter, Attack - attack aircraft, Spaning - reconnaissance. The first model (Gripen A) was adopted in Sweden in 1997.

Speaking about the newest fighter Saab Gripen E, the commander of the Air Force of Sweden Mats Helgeson assured that he is able to defeat the Russian Su aircraft. This is ensured by onboard EW systems, which ensure the Swedish fighter to remain inconspicuous. That is, the pilots of the Russian Su simply will not see him.

After such a statement by the Air Force commander, many comments appeared on the Internet. With someone's light hand, the JAS 39 Gripen was dubbed the "destroyer of Russian Su", which, however, is very controversial.
