Washington is seriously concerned about the development of the latest Russian weapons, against which the head of the Pentagon, Mark Esper, made a statement in which he proposed to force Russia to abandon this by a total ban.

“Therefore, as people talk about a new treaty on the reduction of strategic nuclear weapons, we say - listen, if there will be an extension of the START treaty, we must ensure that it includes all the new weapons that Russia wants to get”- said Esper.

On the other hand, experts point out the fact that Russia will not agree to such conditions, even if it threatens to withdraw from the Strategic Offensive Arms Treaty.

“We have already seen that the United States, long before leaving the INF Treaty, violated existing agreements. Something similar will happen with the Strategic Offensive Arms Treaty if Russia makes any US concessions. ”, - the analyst notes.

It should be clarified that the United States is seriously lagging behind in the development of new types of weapons, including the development of hypersonic weapons, which already exist in countries such as Russia, China and even the DPRK.
