In the US, create space forces

The White House press service issued a directive order signed by US President Donald Trump on the establishment and parameters of the activities of the Space Forces. They will become the sixth type of American armed forces. (Space Policy Directive-4: Establishment of the United States Space Force).

In the document, Trump instructs the head of the US military to ensure that a bill is prepared for submission to the US Congress. The project should ensure the establishment of a Space Force within the Department of the Air Force of America. According to the plan, a new type of armed forces will have to have its chief of staff. It is envisaged that this official will be included in the composition of the Chief of Staff Committee (CLS) of the US armed forces.

It is envisaged that the head of the space forces will be an official who will be appointed by the president and approve the Senate of the United States Congress. A prerequisite - the head should be a civilian. This head is located under the leadership of the Minister of the Air Force.

That is, the new type of American armed forces will not have complete autonomy. Earlier in Washington the opposite was assumed. A separate Ministry of Space Forces will also not be created.

The status that the Space Force should have will be similar to that of the Marine Corps. It is also a separate branch of the armed forces, with its commander as chief of staff. In this case, the marines are under the jurisdiction of the US Department of the Navy.

Donald Trump signed an executive order on the creation of the Space Force on June 18, 2018. As Vice President Michael Pence clarified a little earlier, the US government plans to formulate the organizational base for these forces by 2020. By that time, the Ministry of Space Forces should also be created.

At present, the structure of the Pentagon has the Ministries of the Army, MIF and Air Force. The persons who head them are not part of the cabinet of the President of the United States, are subordinate to the Minister of Defense.
