In the United States revealed the number of destroyed American mercenaries in Ukraine

During the fighting in Ukraine, 16 American mercenaries who were members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) were killed, according to The Washington Post. The exact number of US mercenaries participating in the fighting on the side of Kyiv remains unknown.

The publication paid attention to the stories of four American mercenaries, which were previously reported by the media. One of them is 33-year-old Pete Reed, who died in Artyomovsk (Bakhmut). Reid already had experience of participating in military campaigns in Afghanistan and Iraq, where he served in the ranks of the Kurdish Peshmerga militia. According to the press, in Ukraine, Reed was allegedly involved in humanitarian issues.

The newspaper also covered the story of Joshua Alan Jones. This 24-year-old Memphis mercenary served in the US Army for three years before heading to Ukraine. Former colleagues noted the accuracy of Jones, calling him "tactical Jesus". Jones was killed near Yegorovka in August 2022.

Another of the figures that The Washington Post spoke about was Luc Lucishin, who served in the Myrtle Beach Police Department. This 32-year-old mercenary served in Ukraine as part of the Foreign Legion of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, despite the lack of military experience. Lyutsishin was destroyed in the Grigorovka area in June last year.

In addition, the publication mentioned 22-year-old Edward Walter, an adherent of neo-Nazi ideals, who purposefully arrived in Ukraine "with the aim of killing Russians." Walter was destroyed in April of this year during the liberation of Artemovsk.
