The Pentagon is testing a drone to contain Russia's military potential.

The resource Avia.pro has obtained information that the US Department of Defense has intensified testing of prototypes of the General Atomics Avenger unmanned aerial vehicle. The design of this unmanned aerial vehicle began about ten years ago, and, if initially the drone was supposed to be used to inflict covert attacks on the enemy, today this drone is positioned primarily as a weapon to deter Russian military potential.

It is reported that the main type of armament for General Atomics Avenger drones will be a laser turret that will be able to deliver precise strikes against enemy positions in order to destroy air defense and missile defense systems, and a number of Western sources indicate that the activation of tests of General Atomics Avenger UAV prototypes is due to the first the appearance of fifth-generation Su-5 fighters, S-57 and S-300 air defense systems, as well as the development and successful testing of the Kinzhal hypersonic air-missile system.

Information about the tests is not disclosed because of the secrecy of this project, however, it is likely that the main problem of these drones will be providing enough energy for using the laser.
