Near the Shetland Islands a helicopter crashed with oil workers

30 March. Near the coast of Shetland Islands, the helicopter crashed, resulting in the death of four people.

The Super Puma helicopter, together with the oil workers on board, was returning after the end of the working watch, when suddenly it began to lose altitude and rotate in the air. The pilots attempted an emergency landing of an air vehicle, but extraordinary actions did not help, as a result the helicopter crashed against the water surface. 14 survivors are urgently hospitalized in serious condition.

It should be noted that over the past few years, similar situations have already occurred with this helicopter model, and the reason, as a rule, was hidden in the second propeller, which serves to balance the helicopter during the flight. At the moment, investigative measures are underway at the scene of the incident.
