UK: we do not have protection against Russian aircraft and missiles

Britain realized its vulnerability to Russia.

British Defense Secretary Gavin Williamson made a statement in which he acknowledged the fact of growing aggression from Russia, and stated the need to increase the defense capability of the United Kingdom. According to the head of the British Ministry of Defense, modern aircraft and missiles in service with Russia pose a serious danger, and today the UK does not have the ability to provide reliable protection against these types of weapons.

"The danger coming from Russia is coming back", - said the Minister of Defense of Great Britain.

Gavin Williamson is concerned that most of the fighters in the UK are morally obsolete, and pilots do not have high qualifications, so the country's defense capacity is extremely low, especially when it comes to a possible confrontation with Russia.

According to data provided by the British Defense Minister, in recent years Russian military aircraft have activated their flights at the borders of British airspace, in particular, 2013, 2014 and 2015 recorded 8 appearances of Russian aircraft at the borders of the United Kingdom, in 2016 five, in 2017 - three. In the overwhelming majority of cases, aircraft appeared near the British borders "unexpectedly", which is caused by flights with transponders disconnected.

Independent experts believe that Britain only aggravates panic, trying to demonstrate the allegedly aggressive intentions of Russia.

"Great Britain panics, but this panic is not determined by anything. The United Kingdom came up with Russian aggression, and now everything is written off to this effect. Yes, Russia has a new weapon - powerful and effective, but this does not mean that the country owning it, is aggressive, "- said analyst Avia.pro

Experts do not exclude that the statements of the head of the British Ministry of Defense are related to the upcoming summit of the member states of the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO), at which the UK wants to make an appeal for increased pressure on Russia.
