The Venezuelan authorities called the arrival of the Russian Aerospace Forces one of the most effective measures to protect against aggression.

Venezuelan Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino Lopez said that the main reason for the appearance of Russian Tu-160 strategic bombers is to protect the country in case of any aggression, as well as to maintain balance in the world.

"We are the builders of peace, not war"- said the head of the Ministry of Defense of Venezuela.

Earlier, information appeared that in the event that Washington withdraws from the Treaty on the Elimination of Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces, Russia could deploy its strategic and tactical forces near the US borders, in particular, experts argued that Venezuela and Cuba could be discussed. However, the press secretary of the Russian president completely denied these data, citing the fact that such ideas are not yet considered.
