Israel destroyed the Pantsir-S complex in Syria.

The Israeli Ministry of Defense, during an air strike conducted by the Israeli Air Force on January 21, 2019, destroyed one of the Russian Pantsir-S complexes in Syria, which had been transferred to the ATS, which were repelling the attack. As evidence, the Israeli Ministry of Defense has published video footage showing how the missile, and according to experts, it is a drone, hits the Pantsir-S air defense missile system.

Given the video footage provided, it can be argued that at least one of the Russian Pantsir-S systems transferred to the Syrian army was destroyed. Despite the statements of the Israeli military command that the Pantsir-S air defense missile system in Syria was destroyed by a missile strike, experts are inclined to believe that in reality we are talking about a kamikaze drone, as indicated by the extremely low speed of approach to goals.

So far, no official statements have been made by the Syrian Ministry of Defense to this effect, but the Israel Defense Forces presented a map showing other destroyed Syrian air defense batteries, which may indicate that the Israeli military managed to destroy at least 6 anti-aircraft missile systems.

“During our strike, dozens of Syrian ground-to-air missiles were fired, despite clear warnings that such a fire should be avoided. In response, we also attacked several Syrian armed forces’s air defense batteries”- said the Israeli Defense Forces.

It should be clarified that last year Israel also destroyed one of the Pantsir-S complexes in Syria, but then the Pantsir-S air defense missile system was not on alert.
