Russian Aerospace Forces destroyed a large group of militants who bombarded the Turkish military

At the request of the Turkish side, the aerospace forces of Russia, on a large group of militants in the Idlib area, suffered a rocket-bomb attack. A total of four air strikes occurred. As a result, a large concentration of terrorists who bombarded the Turkish checkpoint was destroyed.

The militant group was located near the village of Dokman and the height of Jabal Taverta. It consisted of infantry units and artillery. After the terrorists fired at the Turkish positions, Ankara officially appealed to Moscow with a request "to assist in ensuring the security of its own military personnel." Referring to the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense, reports the TASS news agency.

Currently, in the de-escalation zone (Idlib) with the mediation of Russia and Turkey, a cease-fire regime has been introduced. The time of entry into force of the agreement was midnight on June 12. Major-General Viktor Kupchishin, head of the Center for Reconciliation of the Warring Parties, clarifies that this agreement has significantly reduced the number of shelling of the adjacent territory by local groups.

Now on the territory of Syria, there are four zones of de-escalation. They are created on the basis of agreements between Russia, Iran and Turkey.

Agreement on such zones was achieved in May 2017 year. Starting in the 2018 year, the three zones are controlled by Damascus. The fourth, most of which is located in the province of Idlib, is partially controlled by the militants.
