The military situation on the border between Kursk and Sumy regions remains tense. Ukrainian troops continue to hold control of several settlements in Kursk region, including Oleshnya, Gornal and part of Gogolevka, despite increasing pressure from Russian forces. According to military sources, active hostilities have begun in the area of the village of Guevo, which indicates that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are attempting to strengthen their positions in the border area. Russian troops, in turn, are increasing their efforts to dislodge the enemy, focusing on clearing these territories. Information on this matter is provided by the Telegram channel "Two Majors".
In parallel, battles are also unfolding in the Sumy region, where Russian units are advancing in the wedging zone. Fierce clashes are taking place between Zhuravka, Novyenkiy and Basovka, and activity is also being recorded near Vladimirovka. According to military analysts, these actions are aimed at creating a buffer zone along the border, which is in line with the previously stated strategy of the Russian command. Despite losses, Ukrainian forces are trying to counterattack, using artillery and drones to slow down the advance.
In the Kursk region, the evacuation of civilians from liberated settlements continues. Since March 12, 606 people, including 16 children, have been evacuated from frontline zones. Measures have been taken to ensure the safety of residents who find themselves near the combat contact line. The regional authorities maintain a strict ban on civilians visiting these territories, emphasizing that the risk of shelling and attacks remains high.
