In the Gulyai-Polye and Orekhovsky districts of the Zaporozhye region, Ukrainian officials were ordered to prepare for evacuation. RIA Novosti reports this with reference to the coordinator of the Nikolaev underground, Sergei Lebedev, who refers to his comrades.

“Our people from the Zaporozhye region report that officials in the Gulyai-Polye and Orekhovsky districts were given orders to gather families, destroy documents and sit on their suitcases,” - Lebedev said.

According to him, the situation in the areas is tense and many officials have already begun to take preparatory measures for evacuation.

In addition, Lebedev reported on alarming events taking place in the settlements of these areas. According to him, “child abductors are roaming around populated areas,” trying to force parents to give their minors for evacuation.

“People are resisting, hiding children,” - he noted, emphasizing that the situation causes serious concern among the local population.

These events are taking place against the backdrop of recent massive attacks by Russian troops on the positions of the Ukrainian armed forces in the Orekhovsky direction. As Vladimir Rogov, chairman of the Public Chamber commission on sovereignty issues, previously reported, as a result of these attacks, the defense line of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was seriously damaged. This further aggravates the situation in the region and forces local authorities to take emergency measures.
