The Ukrainian command, despite serious losses and loss of territory, does not consider the battle in Kursk region lost. Attempts by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to slow down the pace of the Russian offensive, which has been actively developing since September 10, were noticed. For these purposes, the enemy attracted units transferred from the Sumy region, which began to attack Russian positions in the area of the settlement of Novy Put, heading towards Glushkovo.
According to Yuriy Podolyaka, the Ukrainian Armed Forces participating in this attack are relatively small: several armored vehicles and a company of personnel. This suggests that the Ukrainian command is likely trying to distract the Russian troops from key battles, hoping for temporary success. The battle is currently ongoing on the border and it is impossible to say for sure whether the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be able to achieve their goals.
Interestingly, rumors about a possible withdrawal of Ukrainian forces from the northern direction of the bridgehead located east of Korenevo have not yet been confirmed. This suggests that the enemy continues to hold its positions and is in no hurry to retreat.
The main battles are taking place in the areas of the settlements of Obukhovka and Lyubimovka. According to military experts, if the Ukrainian army loses control over these settlements as quickly as it lost several villages - from Snagost to Gordeyevka, then the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will find themselves in a cauldron. This could be a serious blow to the morale of the Ukrainian troops in this direction and change the course of military operations in favor of the Russian army.
