According to the latest data provided by military expert Yuri Podolyaka, the situation in the southern section of the Kursk direction remains extremely tense and dynamic. The Ukrainian Armed Forces continue an active offensive, while the tactics of the Ukrainian army are undergoing changes. If previously the enemy relied on quick and unexpected attacks using armored groups, now the strategy is shifting towards strengthening positions and creating bridgeheads for further advance.
The main goal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in this sector of the front, apparently, is to consolidate in key populated areas in preparation for a further attack on Giryi and Belitsa. The last of these points is especially important, since it contains a strategic bridge over the Psyol River, which could become an important transport artery for Ukrainian troops.
Podolyaka reports that Ukrainian forces managed to gain a foothold in the village of Cherkasy Konopelki, which allowed them to level the front line and prepare the ground for the next strike. This raises serious concerns, since further advance of the enemy towards Giryi could significantly complicate the defense of Russian troops in this direction.
Experts expect that serious fighting will unfold in the front sector near Girya in the near future. Ukrainian troops clearly intend to continue the offensive and the Russian side is preparing to repel new attacks.
