This evening the sounds of explosions were heard over Kursk, which, according to Acting Governor Alexei Smirnov, were associated with the operation of the air defense system. At the moment, it remains unclear what exactly caused the activation of the air defense - an attack by unmanned aerial vehicles or a missile attack. However, given the current aggravation of the situation at the front, especially against the backdrop of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ offensive in the Belovsky region, the incident raises serious concerns.

Air defense work in the regional capital takes place against the backdrop of heavy fighting in neighboring areas, where Ukrainian troops continue to increase pressure on Russian positions.
