On the night of May 21, 2025, residents of Ryazan reported a series of powerful explosions in the sky above the city and its environs. According to preliminary data, the sounds were caused by the operation of Russian air defense systems (AD), which repelled an attack by Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

There are no official statements on this matter, however, earlier there were reports of explosions in the Tula region, as well as a threat of a drone attack on Moscow.

According to eyewitnesses, the explosions began around midnight local time. The Ukrainian drone attack is currently being repelled.
