In Slavyansk-na-Kubani (Krasnodar Krai) on the evening of February 13, at least five explosions thundered. According to preliminary information, the air defense system was activated, shooting down air targets. There are no official data on casualties or damage yet. 

As eyewitnesses told the SHOT portal, the explosions began at about 21:10. City residents heard at least five powerful bangs. According to local residents, one of the drones was shot down near the city. A fire broke out at the site of the drone crash. 

According to preliminary information, the target of the attack was a local oil refinery. At the moment, official bodies are investigating the incident and clarifying the details. Emergency services are already at the site of the alleged drone crash. 

Sources in emergency services suggest that it may be a Ukrainian drone that attempted to attack an industrial facility. The air defense system responded quickly, preventing possible damage. 

Krasnodar Krai has been the target of aerial attacks using unmanned aerial vehicles more than once in recent months. In December 2024, a similar incident occurred in the Tuapse region, where a drone crashed near oil infrastructure. Then, the rapid response of the air defense also prevented serious consequences. 

Experts note that attacks on strategic facilities in the Krasnodar region may be part of a tactic to strike at important infrastructure. The region is of key importance due to the presence of oil refineries and transport hubs. 

According to experts, the effectiveness of the air defense system in the region allows minimizing possible threats, but the risk of attacks remains high. The use of unmanned aerial vehicles complicates the task for air defense due to their small size and high maneuverability. 

Local authorities have called on residents to remain calm and trust information only from official sources. A statement from emergency services and the Krasnodar Region administration is expected in the coming hours, clarifying the details of the incident. 

The Ministry of Emergency Situations, law enforcement agencies and representatives of special services are working at the scene, dealing with the aftermath and collecting data for further investigation. Specialists are checking the area for possible falling debris and assessing the risks to residents of nearby houses.
