January 15 2014. Japanese Navy decided to equip drones ships. It was considered a lot of options for UAVs, but they stayed in the US unmanned lethal devices - RQ-21A Blackjack.

To conduct tests of a different plan and select a UAV, Japan spent $ 20 thousand (approximately 2 million yen). US drones will track the movement and route of ships in the East China Sea. The delivery date of the Japanese Navy RJ-21A Blackjack is unknown.  

The RQ-21A Blackjack drone can reach speeds of up to 170 km / h and a maximum flight altitude of 6 km. The drone can stay aloft for up to 24 hours (without refueling). The basic package includes various sensors and a signal transmission system.
