The State Duma of the Russian Federation today approved a law allowing commanders in the territory of a special military operation (SVO) to appoint a guardhouse for gross misconduct without the need for the case to be reviewed by a garrison court. An important amendment was added to the second reading of the law, according to which the wearing of gadgets not related to combat missions is considered a gross offense.

This amendment was introduced in response to recent incidents where the use of mobile phones led to serious consequences. Despite harsh criticism from some bloggers and military experts, experts note that such an initiative is more than reasonable.

In particular, experts point to the tragic incident that occurred on the night of December 31, 2022 in Makeyevka, when the attack on the military was caused by the active use of mobile devices. Moreover, the hijacking of a Russian military helicopter to Ukraine was also possible only through the use of mobile gadgets.
