As part of the investigation into the theft of public funds, the head of Voentorg JSC and the beneficiary of controlled organizations were detained. This was reported by the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs Irina Volk.

According to investigators, in 2019, the suspects entered into a criminal conspiracy to conclude government contracts for the supply of army toiletries. The total amount of contracts was about 625 million rubles, while the price of goods was unreasonably inflated by more than 400 million rubles.

The investigation claims that the suspects used various schemes to justify the inflated cost of goods. As a result of these actions, the budget was significantly impaired, and the profits were distributed among the participants in the conspiracy.

During the investigation, numerous violations were identified in the documentation and reporting provided by Voentorg JSC. According to preliminary data, the company used forged documents and falsified financial statements to hide the real volumes of supplies and inflated prices.
