The American edition of The Wall Street Journal published the news that the US Department of Defense is considering the possibility of a large-scale strike on Syria and Russian military facilities, including the military airbase "Khmeimim", located in the province of Latakia, the blow allegedly associated with the intention to force the Russian military aviation grouping leave the territory of the Arab Republic, although no official confirmation of this data has been reported.

The German edition of "Bild" provided information that Germany intends to join the large-scale air strikes against the Syrian military, if Bashar Assad decides to use chemical weapons in Syria.
