An advanced Israeli drone was shot down by the Soviet Osa air defense system.

Israeli media have reported that the leading Israeli Hermes 450 drone, carrying out illegal activities in the skies over Lebanon, was destroyed by the Wasp 9K33 anti-aircraft missile system, the existence of which the Hezbollah weapons in Israel did not even suggest.

It is not known exactly how the Osa air defense system was armed with Lebanon, however, according to some reports, at least three of these complexes were delivered to this country via Syria. This fact allows us to assert that now Israeli military aviation flights over Lebanon are more unsafe, since even being developed in the 60 of the last century, this air defense system is capable of hitting air targets at distances up to 10 kilometers, with a maximum target speed of 1500 km / h.

“You should not pay attention to the fact that Osa is already 60 years old - this SAM will do its job well, should it be in the flight zone of an Israeli aircraft”, - emphasizes the specialist.

By the way, Lebanon itself does not comment on the destruction of the Israeli drone, however, a previously published video indicates the fact that the drone was shot down by a missile.
