Incidents

In early July, 1993, the IL-76 aircraft of the Russian Air Force crashed near Pskov airport. During the training flight, the crew lost contact with the gunner. After some time, parts of the fuselage began to separate from the aircraft. The flight control center ordered an emergency descent with an emergency landing. The plane was preparing to perform a hard landing, but could not reach down to the runway and fell in the woods. The entire crew of 11 people died on the spot. In memory of the pilots at the site of the fall, a monument was erected from a wing piece.
