Currently underway planned work on modernization of the air traffic hub with the ability to assign the status of an international airport, which will attract new carriers and customers.

The history of formation and development of the airline "Kurgan"

The first landing of an aircraft registered in the city of Kurgan was in July 1912 years. Planting carried out on the racetrack. Through the years 6 was created in Kurgan aviation school, and complete evacuation of 1919 held in Chita. Regarding the creation of a full-scale airport, it began in September 1923, when a passenger plane "Yunekrs" Company "Dobrolet" landed.

The first air link was established by Dobrolet in 1928. Were adjusted flights from Moscow to Irkutsk. This year is considered the date of commencement of activities of the airport "Kurgan". Already in 1929, the construction of the hangar began, in which you can accommodate three aircraft. A passenger station was also created. All this allowed to start passenger traffic with 1931 year. During the first year of its operation, the airport transported 77 passengers and more than 400 tons of cargo along the route Moscow-Irkutsk. It is worth noting that the number of passengers would be more, but very often there was not enough space on board the aircraft.

In the autumn of 1935, it was decided to build a new airport at a different place. The commissioning was carried out in the spring of 1940.

In connection with the airport started the war, "Barrow" was transferred to the military situation. Its territory was organized by the Training Squadron. In 1943 was opened aviation school for training pilots of strike aircraft. There were trained over a thousand young pilots. For his contribution to the school and the airport itself "Kurgan" were awarded high state awards, namely "For valorous work" and "For Victory over Germany".

At the end of the war, beginning in 1945, the airport began its development in civil aviation. Initially, intraregional aerial communication was set up, which greatly simplified the maintenance of aircraft. Was arranged transportation of goods and mail in the region. Nevertheless, the airport was largely used by the military, since air squadrons were based here until the middle of the 50.

In 1947, the pilot training school at the airport was closed. On its basis, the Trinity Aviation School was organized.

With regard to passenger traffic through the airport, they began to 1955 years. They were transit flights from the Far East to Moscow. Starting with 1957 years, from the airport "Kurgan" began producing a daily flight on the route to Moscow. He serviced the aircraft IL-14, which makes landing in Kazan and Sverdlovsk. A year later, there is a regular air service to Tyumen.

In the winter of 1961, by order of the Civil Air Fleet, an aviation squad based at the airport was reorganized into a squadron, which was combined with the airport.

In 64-year aircraft such as IL-14 have started direct flights between Kurgan and Moscow. A year later, on this flight was made more comfortable and modern airliner An-24.

The first cargo plane that landed on the airport strip was the An-12 in September 1967 of the year, it was performing a technical flight. For the reception of more modern and massive aircraft in the territory of the airport "Kurgan" in 1970, a concrete runway was built with a length of 1,8 kilometers and a width of 45 meters.

Airport began service turbojet passenger aircraft only 1980 years, it was a Tu-134. It is worth noting that in 1985 year was increased slowness of the runway to 2,5 kilometers, which allowed to take large aircraft such as the Tu-154.

Since March 1992, the Kurgan squadron based at the airport has been reorganized into an independent airline. The 90s were hard enough for the company, which in 1998 led to total bankruptcy.

A new stage in the development of steel 2000-e. So in 2004 and 2005, the airport infrastructure was updated. In 2006, a major reconstruction of the apron, runway, and drainage systems was carried out. A year later, new light equipment was installed on the strip. Also, repairs would be carried out in the air terminal itself.

His work Airport "Kurgan" resumed 30.10.2007 years, with the permission to service modern passenger airliners such as Boeing and Airbus. Airport became the first partner of the airline "Avianova", which organized regular communication with Moscow on an airplane type Airbus A320. In December of the same year to serve the route began to airline "RusLine" and "UTair"

In 2013, the Embraer EMB was first adopted, which flies between Ekaterinburg and Kurgan. The airline "Izhavia" in April 2014 of the year began to carry out regular transportation of passengers from Kurgan to Moscow on an aircraft such as the Yak-40.
