AgustaWestland AW139 is two motor transport helicopter in its class to Bell412 and SikorskyS-70. It embodied a lot of new technical solutions, and it is being sold actively exported.

AW139 development started with the project of the company "AgustaBell" AB139. The prototype of this machine took off for the first time 03.02.2001 at the airport of the plant "Agusta" in Vergiat. The first helicopter was lifted into the air 24.06.2002, and deliveries to the 2003 began.

In 2004-2006 AW139 participated in the competition, which has been declared by the US Army for a light utility helicopters (to replace the aging OH-300 58 and UH-1). "AgustaWestland" presented model L3Communications, but lost UH72ALakota, created on the basis of EurocopterES635.

The AW139 helicopter has fewer components and parts than the earlier machines of a similar firm. Its strengths also lie in the availability of systems and the use of integrated avionics, which makes maintenance easier. Modern five-blade main rotor and retractable landing gear provide fast and smooth flight.

Two engines Pratt & Whitney (Canada) РТ6С67С, power in 1531л.с. (1142kW) gives the helicopter impressive properties with the highest take-off weight of 6400kg. AW139 has a higher power output than any other twin-engine medium helicopter of this class, and has a greater cruising speed under various load options, even in fairly difficult meteorological conditions. As an option, complete protection against icing consequences is provided. The helicopter fully complies with the strictest international standards. This made it possible to classify it as “A” (the ability to fly with one full motor on one motor) without restriction in a wide range of operating conditions, including hot and high-altitude climate. This useful quality opened the way for the helicopter to the markets of the Far and Middle East.

For a great level of customer support by "of AgustaWestland" Danish aviation company "VAЁg" called the first and only AW139 "Spirit" Agusta ". AW139 reached safety record that is playing to consumers who have a need for the sea to fly, an important role for example, supply transportation between the oil derricks and the shore.
