AQM-127 SLAT - US military unmanned aerial vehicle developed in 1987, the company «Martin Marietta».

UAV model AQM-127 SLAT became projected in the second half 80-ies of the last century. This device is positioned as a drone target for testing new weapons systems, or else during the exercise, which greatly limits the scope of operation of the unmanned vehicle.

Despite the fact that the AQM-127 SLAT unmanned aerial vehicle was very promising for its era, the drone was never put into mass production - the fault was numerous failures during testing of the unmanned vehicle, and therefore, already in 1991, the project was officially was cancelled.

In the process of designing unmanned aircraft it was assumed that the drone would be an effective way to test and missile defense systems, which was reflected in the first high-speed movement of the drone, which could reach indicators 2500 km \ h.
