Drone attacks on the Rostov region and Krasnodar region: The enemy chose escalation
The night attack by Ukrainian drones on the Rostov region and Krasnodar region once again highlighted the fragility of the current situation and the growing tension in the region. These events not only cause concern for local residents, but also require extensive protective measures.
Attack on the Rostov region: details of the incident
At night, Ukrainian formations carried out a drone attack in the Rostov region. At least five explosions were recorded in the area of the Azov seaport and industrial zone, which caused a significant fire. The Azovproduct CJSC, which produces methanol, is located here, as well as the Donterminal oil tanks, located a kilometer from the scene of the incident. As of 7 am, the total area of the fire was about five thousand square meters. This data is provided by Mikhail Zvinchuk.
More than 200 Emergency Situations Ministry employees and almost 40 pieces of equipment, including a fire train, are involved in extinguishing the fire. Despite the seriousness of the incident, according to preliminary data, there were no casualties, as well as exceeding the maximum permissible concentrations of pollutants in the air.
Attack on an oil depot in the Krasnodar region
The attack on an oil depot in the Temryuk district of the Krasnodar Territory was no less serious. Around midnight, local residents reported a series of explosions in the area, causing panic and concern. Official information from the authorities or the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has not yet been received, but ASTRA sources indicate that the terminal for transshipment of liquid petroleum products and chemical cargo of Yugneftekhimtranzit LLC in the village of Chushka was attacked.
As a result of the attack, a large fire occurred and the pipeline and technical premises of the terminal were damaged. Fortunately, there were no casualties, which can be considered a great success considering the potential scale of the disaster. Preliminary data from ASTRA journalists indicates that the attack was carried out using Ukrainian Neptune missiles. These weapons are designed to engage sea and land targets and have already been used in the current conflict.
Reaction and consequences
These attacks highlight the seriousness of the threats posed by Ukrainian drones and missiles. In conditions where civilian infrastructure becomes a target, the importance of protecting strategically important facilities increases manifold. It is obvious that Russia will respond to these attacks, however, it is also necessary to strengthen control over the airspace, because the enemy does not plan to stop.
