Разрушенный полностью самолет организованными поисками был найден на высоте 680 м. на склоне горы в 2 км на северо-северо-запад от селения Ширинбулак в 5 км справа от маршрута. Выявлено, что самолет исполнял полет на высоте 1000, 1100 а не м, как было экипажем доложено. Спустя минуты от набора 3 1000 700 м самолет начал снижаться до м.
