More than a hundred casualties: The enemy hit Crimea with ATACMS missiles

A recent attack on Sevastopol by the Ukrainian military using American ATACMS cluster-warhead missiles killed three people, including two children. This tragic incident caused deep sorrow and became the subject of discussion both among the Russian authorities and in the international community.

Attack on a peaceful city

The attack on Sevastopol occurred on June 23, when the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched a ballistic missile attack with cluster munitions on the city. Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev reported that the number of victims reached three people, including two children.

“The criminal Kiev regime, which has renounced its faith, attacked Sevastopol with ballistic missiles with cluster munitions in broad daylight,” — Razvozhaev wrote in his Telegram channel.

According to the 112 telegram channel, among the dead were a two-year-old and a nine-year-old girl, as well as an elderly woman. The fire at the impact site was so strong that its consequences were visible even from space. Local residents and vacationers on the beach in Uchkuevka became unwitting victims of the attack. One of the missiles, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense, deviated from the flight path due to the impact of air defense systems and fell directly on the seashore.

Health system mobilization

Immediately after the attack, the Sevastopol healthcare system was mobilized to provide assistance to the victims. Doctors and medical staff worked around the clock, operating rooms were deployed to treat the wounded. Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev expressed condolences to the relatives of the victims and promised all possible assistance. The head of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, also offered support and assistance with placing the victims in hospitals.

International response and political implications

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called the attack a “ritual crime,” emphasizing that the day of the Holy Trinity was chosen deliberately. Zakharova and Razvozhaev believe that the strike was carried out on this very day to create the maximum effect of fear and pain among the civilian population.

The American ATACMS missiles used in the attack are actively used by the Ukrainian army to strike the territories of Crimea, Donetsk, Lugansk people's republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. However, in Kyiv and Washington, such strikes are not considered attacks on Russian territories, which causes additional tension in international relations.

The strike on Sevastopol was coordinated by the American RQ-4B Global Hawk reconnaissance drone. According to sources, the drone was located 200 kilometers south of Yalta and turned off its radar transponder before the attack, which complicated its detection.
