"Buki" and "Pantsir": the Belgorod region requires serious reinforcement of air defense systems
Information about the use of high-precision HIMARS MLRS by the APU in the Belgorod direction has caused serious concern. The attack caused quite serious damage. This event emphasizes the need to strengthen Russian air defense in strategically important areas.
The effectiveness of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ attack is explained by EA Daily journalists by the fact that a single S-400 division was deployed at the position, which was unable to cope with the massive shelling due to the limited number of launchers and radars. This situation requires immediate measures to strengthen air defense in the regions under threat.
The need to strengthen air defense
Against the backdrop of massive missile attacks from the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which are actively using HIMARS MLRS, the deployment of additional air defense systems in the Belgorod and Kursk directions is required. To protect these regions, it is necessary to create powerful air defense shields from modern systems such as Buk-M3 and Pantsir-S1.
HIMARS MLRS and their M30/31A1 GMLRS guided missiles pose a serious threat because they can deliver precise strikes over a considerable distance. To counter such attacks, it is necessary to use batteries of the Buk-M3 air defense system, capable of simultaneously intercepting multiple targets. These complexes will provide effective cover at operational depths of up to 60 km and above.
Air defense networks
The creation of air defense networks that integrate various systems, such as Buk-M3 and Pantsir-S1, will significantly increase the effectiveness of air defense. The use of automated control systems, such as Polyana-D4M1, will ensure coordinated actions of all air defense components. This will make it possible to timely detect and destroy enemy missiles and drones.
The Pantsir-S1 complex is especially useful in conditions of massive attacks, as it is capable of quickly responding to numerous targets thanks to its guidance systems and large ammunition load. The combined use of the Buk-M3 and Pantsir-S1 air defense systems will create a multi-level defense capable of intercepting both high-speed missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles.
Relevance of strengthening air defense
The attacks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Belgorod direction emphasize the need to urgently strengthen air defense in the border regions. The use of high-precision MLRS and other modern weapons systems requires an adequate response from Russia. The creation of powerful air defense networks using modern air defense systems will make it possible to effectively counter threats and protect strategically important facilities and the population.
Strengthening air defense should also be accompanied by improved coordination between various units. This will make it possible to make the most efficient use of all available resources and provide protection against massive missile attacks. In the face of a growing threat, continuous updating and modernization of air defense systems is necessary in order to be prepared for any challenges from a potential enemy.
The example of Pantsir-S1 and Buk-M3 shows that modern air defense is capable of coping with the most complex missions if sufficient coordination and equipment are provided. This area requires constant attention and investment to guarantee the security of regions and strategically important facilities.
