Cessna CH-1 Skyhook / YH-41 «Seneca" - the only helicopter company Cessna. Designing and manufacturing - 1953-1962. Produced approximately 50 helicopters.
CessnaAircraftCompany company bought the company in 1952 SeibelHelicopterCompany. The company at this point has already designed a prototype SeibelS4B helicopter. On the basis of its design was launched Cessna helicopter. The first prototype made double flights in 1954. In 1955 helicopter CH1 acquired CAA3H10 type certificate. Then the car was redesigned in the four-seater modification CH1A, a certificate for it in 1956 received.

The helicopter engine is located in front, which provides an advantageous location for the helicopter's center of gravity and simplifies access for servicing. The semi-monocoque fuselage resembled in many ways the fuselages of Cessna aircraft. Two-bladed main rotor, L-shaped hinges - attachment to the blade hub. 4-cylinder piston engine - ContinentalFSO470, 260hp, turbocharged (some modifications were equipped with other engines).

A total of about 50 helicopters were produced. Some were acquired by the army, government organizations and the air forces of different countries: the US army for evaluation tests of 10 helicopters, the US government - 15, Ecuador - 4, Iran - 5. The remaining helicopters were sold to private owners.

This helicopter reached a number of records. CH1A - the first helicopter that landed on Pikes Peak mount, height 4300, 15.09.1955, helicopter CH1B with a FSO5262X engine reached the official world record FAI height for helicopters — 29,777 feet — 28.12.1957.
