In 15 years, all wars will be fought only with the help of robots - Mark Milley

Most of the world's armies, navies and air forces "will be robotized" in 15 years, if not sooner, US General Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said, according to Business Insider.

“The nature of war changes every time a new weapon comes out,” Mark Milley said on the Eurasia Group Foundation podcast. “Today we are experiencing the most significant and most fundamental change in the nature of warfare, and this is happening thanks to technology.”

Milley pointed out that drone target detection capabilities have changed the way they strike, arguing that "the ability to hit with precision-guided munitions is like nothing people have ever seen before."

The senior officer highlighted the role of autonomous drones and said that the US and many of the world's leading militaries are experimenting with floating and ground unmanned platforms. Milley said that over the next 15 years, if not sooner, "you will see a significant portion of armies, navies and air forces become robotic."
