Long-range aviation

Long-range aviation is going through difficult times. However, despite the difficulties, the staff of long-range aircraft to effectively perform all its tasks, and it provides an alert to the highest level. This is a major aviation component of the strategic nuclear forces of our country and the striking force Force.

As is well known, long-range aviation of the country originates from airships called "Ilya Muromets". They represent the overall four-engine bomber, the very first in the world.

In the second half of the century 20-precision weapons of all kinds has become an indispensable and effective tool in the fight in three physical areas: the sea, land and air. This is evidenced by the events of the war in the Middle East, Vietnam, operation "Desert Fox", "Desert Storm", "Allied Force". And in the last three operations increasing role in the fight against air showed high-precision cruise missiles, air and sea (ALCM, SLCM). Precision weapons is constantly evolving, and now it can accurately hit the target, wherever it was.

Given the current state of the economy and its geopolitical position, the main direction of development of long-range aircraft is considered to be:

  • maintenance of long-range aircraft at a level that provides a solution to all tasks of the strategic content;
  • the modernization of combat aircraft systems (especially combat aircraft);
  • aircomplexes development perspective;
  • bringing the long-range aircraft to the level of combat readiness, which would in time allowed to carry out any combat tasks as efficiently as possible.

Well, if we take into consideration the current global military-political situation, the economic capacity of the country on military construction, the long-range aviation should also be upgrading the strategic aviation complexes.

Modern long-range aviation in a conventional war can solve a lot of important operational and strategic objectives, which include:

  • loss of ships, aircraft carrier groups in the areas of combat maneuvers and transitions across the sea or ocean;

  • defeat the main aviation groups to air bases (aerodromes) in remote geographical areas;

  • loss of important military-industrial and energy facilities, as well as strategic and operational reserves, naval bases, communications nodes and points-based naval forces, the main centers of state and senior military command and control, and others.

Today, the security of our country depends on a correct understanding of the important role of long-range aviation in the fight against an external enemy. After all, long-range aviation is one of the most flexible tools of a combat vehicle that, unlike intercontinental missiles of the Strategic Missile Forces and submarine missile carriers of the Navy, can be effectively used in non-nuclear equipment in local conflicts, as well as in the conditions of a great war, apart from other important tasks. Such ambiguity and flexibility provide long-range aviation with a stable place in the future, despite the much lower reaction speed and charge compared to intercontinental missiles.

In general, over the past few years, long-range aviation has won the most important place in the Air Force. It was and will be in battle formation to perform all its tasks to protect the country.
