Modifications in B, C and E showed the increase in the capabilities (and weight) of the A-4 aircraft from the moment of construction of the first specimens, and the aircraft became the main one for carrying out the tasks of the Navy and the US Marine Corps in the attacking of the jungles of Southeast Asia. The Skyhawk (sky hawk) aircraft also had export success, a large number of aircraft sold to Indonesia, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, New Zealand, Kuwait, Israel and Argentina. Aircraft in the last three countries also took part in the fighting. In 1965, Douglas created a two-seat modification of Skyhawk, which received the designation TA-4.

Subsequently, it was built 555 these aircraft for the US armed forces and for export. A large number of aircraft of the total number of storm troopers - 2405 instances built up with 1954 1979 years - is still serving in the ranks of the military aviation.
