Design and development of multi-purpose UAV EADS Sharc was totally experimental. The main purpose of the work associated with the construction of an unmanned aircraft was to demonstrate drones able to work in stand-alone mode, in particular, representatives of the company «Airbus Group» had the intention to demonstrate unmanned aircraft, which could eventually be used as an air taxi money as a tourist agent and etc.

UAV model EADS Sharc was first presented at the Paris Air Show, which caused quite turbulent air from almost all representatives of the exhibition, however, for several reasons, including because of the lack of investment, the project was temporarily shelved, however, in the middle of 2016, the company «Airbus Group» announced that it intends to continue the development in this respect.

UAV EADS Sharc made in the configuration copter with coaxial screw system that provides the device in addition to a sufficiently high flight speed and excellent maneuverability. As used herein, four-cylinder piston aviation engine Rotax brand allows drone to develop airspeed to 150 km \ h., While the maximum length of the device being in the air is limited 4 hours.

Drone EADS Sharc equipped with electro-optical camera, which allows to monitor the terrain wave radar to prevent a rapprochement with air targets, as well as a laser rangefinder that allows you to monitor the distance to objects.
