The Eurocopter EC 135 P2i is an example of a successful collaboration between German and French aircraft builders, who complemented the reliable German BO105 helicopter with a Fenestron tail rotor, which was developed by French engineers.

A huge number of composite elements are used in the design of the helicopter, which made it possible to reduce its weight and solve the problem of corrosion of metal elements. With this, the manufacturer was able to achieve a 20 percent reduction in operating costs compared to the BO105 at a higher specification. The helicopter features improved operational characteristics, increased maximum take-off weight, low vibration and external noise in the cockpit and high maneuverability.
