"Europe will help us"

"Helicopters from Europe rescue Primorski." (ATO # 184, November 2017)

"With the advent of European helicopters, disaster medicine in the region has reached a qualitatively new level.

Two sanitary helicopters AS350 B3e (H125) manufactured by Airbus Helicopters are used to perform sanitary aviation in the Primorsky Territory. These vehicles were purchased by the regional administration in 2015 in the framework of the state program "Development of the Primorsky Territory Transport Complex at 2013-2020."

Needless to say: the inhabitants of Primorsky Krai "would be lost" without H125?

In the meantime, India buys from us coaxial Ka-226 in the amount of 200 pieces, won international competitions for the same N125.

The Kamovians in the 90-ies. There was also a more modern project with one engine: coaxial Ka-115, but safer than H125, cheaper, more perfect and roomy, where instead of one accompanying a doctor and a nurse could be accommodated. brigade.

But for a government official - a liberal helicopter with a tail screw - a balm for the soul! Probably, for his drift: with the screws working, the tail propeller is very dangerous on the ground; with a failure in the air, with rare exceptions, - a catastrophe; selects a portion of the engine power to the detriment of the payload; and for the solidity of the fuselage, a heavy tail boom with reducers is attached to it. A coaxial helicopter also has a tail boom, but in comparison with the tail beam of the classical scheme - "fluff". While the coaxial helicopter simply flies its tail forward at any speed, the Mi-8 "Kalashnikov Automaton" is not allowed to fly backwards even when maneuvering before landing:

"The cause of the accident was the aircraft getting into the" vortex ring "mode when performing helicopter landing without using the influence of the" air cushion. "Attempts to withdraw from this mode by the method specified in the Flight Manual (flight manual) of the Mi-8T helicopter, the crew did not undertook, "- said in a statement by the IAC.

According to the IAC, this was because the crew made a mistake, the helicopter was flying "tail forward" at speeds up to 40 kilometers per hour. Such a maneuver in the manual for the operation of the helicopter is missing "(the IAC Commission completed the investigation of the aviation ..." Airport ").

Now let's compare LTH Mi-8 MTV and Ka-32 with the same TV3-117 engines

Modification  Mi-8MTV
Cruising speed, km / h  230
Weight, kg empty 7381
Normal takeoff  11100
Payload up to 24 passengers or 4000 kg of cargo

Modification  Ka-32
Cruising speed, km / h  240
Weight, kg empty 6000
Normal takeoff  11000
Payload 13 passengers or 5000 kg of cargo

The small number of passengers in the Ka-32 is explained by its low fuselage volume. The fact is that this helicopter is a modification of the Ka-27, built in Soviet times especially for the Navy. But the Kamovites based on the Ka-32 since 2001. there is a Ka-32-10 project with a fuselage volume commensurate with the Mi-8, but the main gearbox and rotors are serial from the Ka-32, so at the output it is supposed to be no more expensive and even cheaper than today's Mi-8, which, in my look, and does not suit "effective" managers, because from the Kamov helicopter a lot of "dough cannot be cut down" and, presumably, because of this, its implementation was "FROZEN". And in general: it is impermissible for Russian engineers to launch a helicopter into production better than a WESTERN one! Therefore, instead of the Ka-32-10AG project, Russian Helicopters launched the Mi-171A2 series with the same VK-2500 engines, but which also loses in all respects: in terms of safety, in terms of carrying capacity; in terms of speed characteristics, the Ka-32-10AG will not be inferior to the Mi-38, and on an external sling it will lift one ton more, which indicates a large power-to-weight ratio of the Ka-32-10AG. But the Mi-171A2 is being prepared for Arctic flights:

"18 July. Within the framework of the recently announced project to develop a shelf version of the Mi-171A2 helicopter, the car will be adapted to work in the Arctic, the ATO Show Observer was told in the Helicopters of Russia. This will be required due to the fact that the car is planned to be used, including on the Arctic shelf.

The holding hopes that the experience of developing "Arctic" helicopters will allow the shelf version of Mi-171A2 to be launched to the market relatively quickly. The machine is developed in the interests of fuel and energy companies. "

Of course, it would be economically much more profitable for the state to have a coaxial helicopter, when the base Ka-32 was checked in the real conditions of the Arctic for a long time, rather than "making a garden" with Mi-171A2:

"In the Arctic, an experienced unloading of the supply vessel to the unequipped coast by a Ka-32 helicopter was carried out. In this experiment, a veteran polar explorer, Hero of the Soviet Union, Mark Ivanovich Shevelev participated. "

Recalls Mark Shevelev:

"It was necessary to supply the polar station on Bear Island with everything necessary for a long wintering. Typically, this operation in the Arctic takes a lot of time. There are no berths, snow, wind, on the pontoon you will not always come to the shore. In a word, people drag cargo in icy water, and even special suits are not saved here. It is especially difficult to manually drag fuel tanks. But everything must be moved as far as possible from the sea, beyond the maximum tide line. And so, in spite of the fog, with the help of the Ka-32 helicopter we finished unloading the vessel "Sasha Borodulin" in just one and a half days.

The helicopter picked up a container with a cargo of five tons from the deck and carried it to the island to the very house of the meteorological station. "

Why was it not possible to invite a rotorcraft to riggers and loaders before? The matter is that in the polar conditions only Ka-32 can be reliably used for work with ships. The helicopter successfully passed comprehensive tests. Sailors, scientists, pilots appreciated his great opportunities.

The commander of the division of helicopter pilots of civil aviation Valentin Andreev:

"Ka-32 even us, flying on helicopters of different designs, surprised. This compact robust has excellent engines. He has on board a superb flight navigation system and a computer with which you can fly in automatic mode over the ocean and day, and on a polar night without a drive station and dispatchers. Electronic equipment always keeps the right course. "

This machine is a find for the Arctic. Ka-32 helicopters as part of Arctic caravans will bring serious savings to the national economy. "(Feast on Bear Island, Faithful Course, World Records Ka-32.).

Vitalii Belyaev

Although (continuing the theme of kickbacks), what prevents the same managers from getting kickbacks from Kamov cars ????? !!! Nothing and nobody ... just the same lobby kb mile ... or habit ... or advertising ... one hundred reasons ...

It interferes with the fact that General Designer S.V. Mikheev spends money allocated to his company only on helicopters and does not give bribes, so there are no kickbacks.
Milyovtsev all the way around!

The Mil lobby has always been known! And here are the "effective managers", I don't understand ... Obviously, even without the bottom (during the times of the same Union) they drove a series of Mi-8, to the detriment of the Ka-26 ... There, however, there was a problem with the engines , but now with the same engine, of course, it would be worth choosing a better design ... However, rollbacks, rollbacks, rollbacks ...
