Air America (1990)

  • Country: USA.
  • The slogan - «Anything. Anywhere. Anytime ».
  • Directed by Roger Spottiswoode.
  • Starring: Mel Gibson, Robert Downey Jr., Nancy Travis, Ken Jenkins, David Marshall Grant, Lane Smith, Art Lafleur, Ned Eisenberg, Marshall Bell, David Beauvais.

The film is made in the genre of action comedy. Humor present but weak extent.

Pilot Billy Covington in 1969 is preparing to work in the airline "Air America", which deals with the transport of goods in Laos. But his teammate Gene Raiek made it clear that this airline is involved in the transportation of weapons and opium, therefore, somehow, is involved in the "dirty war" in Vietnam. At work, he expected to receive easy money, but gradually he realizes that he has become very involved in a very dangerous and shameful business, but the sense of truth did not allow him to remain soulless to everything that was happening on earth and in the sky. The main accent of the film is aviation. In some places delivery points are hot places in the territory of which battles are fought, but sometimes luck on their side and all meetings and negotiations go smoothly, in other situations it is necessary to survive. The fall of aircraft and helicopters is the brightest scene of the film. A very exciting moment was when Downey and Gibson jumped out of the helicopter, which was stuck between the jungle trees.
