Italy

A type: Single-engine training aircraft

Crew: Two pilots are arranged one behind the other

It was designed by the same team that created all successful fighters of the company FIAT previous decade. G.46 was built as a temporary training aircraft for the Italian Air Force after the war. The first batch of 1 series aircraft entered Italian Air Force flight school in the year 1949, which soon proved to be an ideal "stepping stone" for novice pilots who have recently completed a course on the plane 1-5 "Sentinel" Company "Stinson" (which was then the main teaching Italian Air Force training aircraft) and were going to transfer to the aircraft T-used "Texan" and G.55 Fiat company.

The G.46 aircraft flying off this role for almost ten years were considered redundant after the Italian Air Force grew to "jet age" and revised its curriculum - now the pilots started their training at the Texan T-b and immediately took the T- 33, leaving the Italian Air Force unnecessary now aircraft G.46 (and L-5). For the Air Force, more than 150 of these training aircraft were built, and some of them remained in operation by the Italian Air Force in the communications units and for the current maintenance of the uniform of officers. Nevertheless, the bulk of these aircraft after their "demilitarization" was transferred to aeroclubs throughout Italy, and it was from these aircraft that 22 survived the surviving instance of G.46. Of these, five remain in a state of airworthiness: two in Italy, two in the United States and one in Belgium.

In addition to the Italian Air Force 11 these aircraft (equipped with engines "Gypsy Queen" 30 company "De Havilland") the FIAT company ordered the Air Force to Syria, 70 aircraft (also equipped with engines "Gypsy Queen") operates Argentina and five aircraft - Air Force Austria, bringing the total number of G.46 aircraft to 223 copies.
