Fokker F-28 Fellowship (Fokker F28 Fellowship) - short-range Dutch airliner. A joint project of several European aviation manufacturers. Serially produced in 1967-1987 in various variations.

Plane Design

Several well-known European manufacturers of aviation equipment participated in the design of the aircraft, which began in 1962: Fokker, MBB (Germany), Short Brothers (Great Britain), FokkerVFW (Germany),. Funding from the government was distributed as follows: the government of the Netherlands had 50 percent of the share of Fokker, and the Federal Republic of Germany - 60 percent of the total 35 percent of the contribution to the project. \ Germany.

The short-haul airliner was designed to transport 60-65 people over a distance of up to 1650 kilometers. Initially, they planned to install British turbojet engines BristolSiddeley BS75, then they decided to install lighter Rolls-Royce "SpeyJunior" engines, a lighter version of the RollsRoyce Spey turbojet engine.

F28, new aircraft, in its arrangement was similar in many respects liners BAC1-11 and DC9. The design of the tail was used T-shaped tail, simplified flaps, ailerons, shifted off to the small winglets sweep. The tail section of the aircraft placed two folding adjustable aerodynamic brake.

The distribution of production and development of aircraft parts among the project participants was as follows: Fokker - internal wing elements, central and nose sections of the fuselage; MBB / FokkerVFW - tail, front and rear fuselage; Shorts - the outer part of the wing.

Final assembly Fokker-F28 held at the company close to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.

Exploitation. The main variation

Analogue F28-1000 made its first flight on 09.05.1967/1969/28.03.1969. The aircraft was certified in Germany in 281000. Start of regular use of the aircraft - XNUMX/XNUMX/XNUMX, Braathens aviation company. The cargo version of this vehicle was called the FXNUMXC.

By 1971, a new version of the aircraft was designed - the F282000 with a passenger capacity of 79 people (compared to 65 in the F281000) and a longer fuselage.

Later, they developed a modification of the F.28 Mk 000 - with a shorter fuselage from the 1000 series, a longer range and a reinforced structure. The main operator of this series was the Garuda Airlines aviation company.

The F284000 modification was the biggest commercial success. Aircraft of this series have been regularly operated since 1976 by the Linjeflyg aviation company. The aircraft had an elongated fuselage and a passenger capacity of 85 people. The wingspan has increased, the design of the cockpit and fuselage has changed, and less noisy Spey 55515H motors have been installed.

The F28 Mk6000, which was certified in 1975, featured a longer fuselage, copied like the 2000/4000, with a larger wingspan and slats.
