Hydro regulators GTD

The first related mainly to insufficient technical means of ground control, the influence of climatic factors, in contact with aggressive substances and others. The second depends on the skill of the staff, compliance with the rules of operation and quality of the technical maintenance documentation (descriptions, instructions, etc..). Reduce the negative impact of these factors allow periodic certification of personnel and improvement of ground control.

Hydromechanical regulators were the main ones in the automatic control systems of gas turbine engines before the emergence of digital electronic control systems with full responsibility (of the type FADEC) and ensured the performance of all control functions on engines for various purposes. Full-functional hydromechanical regulators are currently operating on many GTEs in service. Hydromechanical devices are also used as part of modern electronic control systems for performing certain functions and as reserve regulators controlling the engine in the event of an electronic regulator failure.

At the time of creation of digital electronic control systems for gas turbine engines, the hydromechanical controllers containing a complex of mechanical (lever, cam), hydraulic and pneumatic counting devices, which are necessary for implementing multiparameter programs and control algorithms, have become very complex. For example, to perform the order of 100 control functions, this controller must contain up to 6500 parts, including about 100 precision pairs. The complexity of such systems is illustrated by the schematic diagram of the pump-regulator (developed by the JSC NPP Temp named after F. Korotkov), which combines the functions of regulating and supplying fuel and ensuring the performance of the functions of the gas turbine control of the gas turbine engine. Such complex designs are expensive in development, production and operation, which was an important incentive for the transition to electronic control systems.

Below are some examples of the construction of hydro-mechanical devices that perform separate functions of motor control.

The controller provides a fuel dosing fuel supplied from the high-pressure pump into a combustion chamber, in accordance with control commands. The scheme is simple fuel controller installed for the gear pump.

Shaping function performs fuel metering valve 2 with profiled orifice, to which fuel is fed from the pump. To ensure the accuracy of dosing with a valve 3 maintained constant pressure by changing the flow rate of fuel bypassed. 1 shut-off valve is designed to prevent fuel leaks in the engine is not running.
