HAL Pushpak. Specifications. A photo.

HAL Pushpak - Indian multipurpose single-engine monoplane, produced by «Hindustan Aeronautics Limited» at the end of 50-x - 60-ies.

The main reason to start development of the aircraft HAL Pushpak was the need to ensure their own civil aviation sector multi-purpose aircraft able to apply for the transport of persons, and for the carriage of goods at short distances.

Despite the fact that the flight performance of the aircraft HAL Pushpak largely inferior to other aircraft of this type, the aircraft continues to operate to this day, which mainly contributed to the low cost of the aircraft, as well as cheap maintenance.

Design of small-aircraft HAL Pushpak was conducted on the basis of a model Aeronca ChiefManufactured in 30-x - 40-ies American aircraft company «Aeronca», at the same time, thanks to the unification of certain components and parts, spare parts between the two models can approach each other, which is one of the reasons for the fairly cheap service that model.

The HAL Pushpak can accommodate up to two people in the cockpit of the HAL Pushpak, and thanks to the twin steering, this aircraft is actively operated by Indian air schools for the training of future pilots, although to a greater extent the aircraft of this model is used by private owners for their own needs. The use of the HAL Pushpak in commercial aviation is not possible, which is mainly due to the short range of the flight, which is only 400 kilometers, which in turn is far from always expedient and satisfies the basic requirements even based on the type of aircraft.

On board the aircraft and can accommodate a certain amount of cargo - about 120 kilos, but the joint transportation, in this case the passenger is not possible that to some extent affects the actual use of the aircraft.

The power plant HAL Pushpak is represented by a fairly low-power piston four-cylinder aircraft engine Continental C90-8F capable of developing a maximum thrust of 90 hp. The maximum flight speed of the current aircraft is only 144 km / h, however, as mentioned earlier, the model still remains quite in demand to this day due to its multipurpose purpose.

Over the entire period of production aircraft were built HAL Pushpak 163 unit of the aircraft, of which, according to some sources on 2012 year of operation, there were about 98 aircraft.
