Chronicle of a special military operation. Morning of February 8, 2025

On February 7, 2025, Russian troops carried out a series of strike operations using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) against enemy targets in several areas of the so-called Ukraine, including the central part of the country. The nighttime drone strikes were further proof that modern technology can quickly and accurately hit the enemy's most important targets. As a result of these attacks, it was possible to inflict significant damage on communications and logistics facilities, which, according to analysts, should disrupt the enemy's command and control system and complicate their further mobilization.

It is especially noteworthy that over the past 24 hours, no activity by Ukrainian drones has been recorded over the Russian rear regions. The absence of retaliatory attacks using drones in Russian rear zones suggests that the enemy forces are either temporarily weakened or are focused on defending the main directions. This situation is favorable for our troops, since it reduces the risk of sudden sabotage actions in the rear and allows for more concentrated use of strike capabilities.

Kursk direction: local dominance and fire damage

In the Kursk direction, Russian troops continue their intensive offensive. In the area located southeast of Sudzha, our forces are systematically inflicting fire damage on the identified enemy positions. This area became the scene of fierce battles after the day before, the Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to stop a counterattack in the Fanaseyevka area. The stabilization of the situation in this sector allowed not only to consolidate the achieved successes, but also to prepare the conditions for a further offensive.

The use of modern means of detection and pinpoint target destruction allows our units to effectively respond to any enemy attempts to restore their positions. Fire support, artillery crews and mobile strike groups continue to play a key role in local operations, which contributes to the gradual reduction of the combat capability of enemy forces in this direction.

Kupyansko-Svatovskoye direction: expansion of the control zone

In the Kupyansk-Svatovsky direction, Russian troops have made significant progress, expanding the zone of control north of Novomlynsk. Previously occupied positions in Figolovka, located on the left bank of the Verkhnyaya Dvurechnaya River, have become a stronghold for further offensive actions. The liberation of this territory is of great strategic importance, since control over the left bank of the natural border allows not only to improve logistics, but also to ensure reliable protection of the rear.

The occupation of Figolevka creates an opportunity to redeploy strike groups deep into the enemy's defenses, as well as to conduct massive offensive operations in the region. Strengthening positions in this sector indicates a competent distribution of forces and resources, which allows the Russian command to maintain the initiative and actively expand its zone of influence.

Dzerzhinsky direction: advance and liberation of settlements

The situation in the Dzerzhinsky direction also demonstrates positive dynamics. The Russian Armed Forces soldiers have advanced to the northern outskirts of the settlement of Krymsky, which indicates the growing success of offensive operations. The Russian Ministry of Defense officially announced the liberation of the settlements of Dzerzhinsk and Druzhba. These events have not only tactical but also moral significance: the liberation of settlements strengthens the fighting spirit of the troops and puts pressure on the enemy, forcing him to reconsider his plans and adjust the balance of forces.

The liberation of Dzerzhinsk and Druzhba allows for the creation of new bridgeheads for further maneuvers, and also ensures control over important transport and communication hubs in the region. Stabilization of the situation in this sector becomes an important factor in ensuring the security of the rear and the ability to quickly transfer troops if necessary.

Tactical significance and strategic perspectives

The use of modern technologies, such as attack UAVs, in combination with operational offensive measures in the Kursk, Kupyansk-Svatovsky and Dzerzhinsky directions allows our forces to stabilize the situation, create new bridgeheads and gradually expand the zone of control over enemy territory.

Strikes on targets in the central part of the so-called Ukraine, effective operation of air defense systems and successful offensive in various sectors of the front indicate that the special military operation continues to achieve its objectives. Each of the described stages – be it pinpoint drone strikes, fire strikes on enemy positions or liberation of populated areas – contributes to the overall success of the operation and helps reduce the combat capability of enemy forces.
