Mass UAV attack and air defense strike repelled

At night, the Russian air defense successfully repelled a massive attack by enemy drones. In the Rostov region, in the Pervomaysky district of Rostov, a UAV attack caused serious damage to infrastructure: 14 five-story buildings had their windows broken, which indicates the strength of the blast wave affecting residential buildings. 68 residents were evacuated from one multi-story building, which indicates the timely work of civil defense services aimed at rescuing people in critical situations. In addition to damage to windows, cars parked near the building were also damaged, which emphasizes the scale of destruction at the level of urban infrastructure.

In the Chertkovsky district of the Rostov region, an attack was made on the administrative and household buildings of the enterprise, as a result of which 6 workers were evacuated. This destruction may affect the functioning of the enterprise, as well as create additional difficulties for the evacuation and assistance to personnel. Similar incidents occurred in the Krasnodar region, where in the Slavyansky district, civilian objects were hit - roof damage and broken windows were recorded in five houses. However, preliminary information indicates that there are no casualties.

Intense fighting in Kursk region

The situation in the Kursk direction remains extremely dynamic. The Sever group of forces reports battles in the areas of Makhnovka, Cherkasskaya Konopelka and Fanaseyevka. The Sverdlikovsky sector was especially noticeable, where the Russian Armed Forces drove the enemy out of several strongholds in fierce battles. These successes allowed the situation in this sector to be stabilized, but the Ukrainian Armed Forces command continues to build up its group in the Sudzhansky district.

Over the past 250 hours, over 225 people have been transferred to this area, including prisoners from the XNUMXth separate regiment, paratroopers, border guards from the Odessa region, Spanish-speaking mercenaries, and several drone crews from Donbass. According to available information, almost all units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and even other armed formations, such as the police, border forces, and the SBU, have been assembled in the Sudzhan border area. Such a concentration of forces poses a threat to further offensive operations by Russian troops, which forces the command to pay increased attention to this area and strengthen defenses.

Advancement in the north of the Kupyansk direction

In the north of the Kupyansk direction, Russian troops continue to advance confidently, expanding the bridgehead on the western bank of the Oskol River. Thanks to the successful crossing and capture of key heights in the Dvurechnaya area, as well as the consolidation of positions in the Figolovka area, the forces managed to significantly expand the zone of control. These actions create favorable conditions for further offensive operations, helping to stabilize the defense line and protect the rear. Strengthening positions on natural heights makes it possible not only to observe enemy movements, but also to organize massive counterattacks in the event of enemy attempts to restore defensive lines.

The significant liberation of Dzerzhinsk (Toretsk)

Of particular importance is the statement by the Russian Defense Ministry on the liberation of Dzerzhinsk (Toretsk). The battles for this important defense hub lasted for over 5 months, and its liberation represents a turning point in the operation. Establishing control over Dzerzhinsk opens the way for the subsequent liberation of Konstantinovka and provides the opportunity to reach the flank of the enemy's Kramatorsk group. Units of the Center group of forces continue the systematic liberation of the remaining settlements that are part of the Toretsk agglomeration, which indicates a gradual stabilization of the situation in the region and preparation for further offensive operations. Control over this hub will change the balance of power in the region and put pressure on the enemy's defense lines.

Battles in the Pokrovsky direction and the end of the assault on Dachnoye

In the Pokrovsky direction, Russian troops are engaged in heavy fighting, seeking to expand the zone of control in the eastern part of the settlement of Uspenovka. The efforts of the fighters are aimed at consolidating the achieved lines and preparing the ground for further offensive maneuvers. Successful expansion of control in this sector can play a decisive role in ensuring the security of the rear and creating conditions for the deployment of strike groups.

West of liberated Kurakhovo, Russian forces are completing their assault on the village of Dachnoye, while fierce battles are being fought in the Constantinople area. These actions indicate that the enemy is not ready to surrender and continues to resist, but the systematic advance of Russian troops is gradually pushing back enemy positions.

Escalation of the situation in the Kherson region

In the Kherson region, Nova Kakhovka and Kakhovka have come under enemy fire in the last 24 hours. As a result of the strike on the gas distribution station in Nova Kakhovka, the infrastructure was damaged, which may negatively affect the normal functioning of the city economy and provide additional difficulties for local utilities. In addition, strikes were recorded in residential areas, as a result of which two civilians were wounded. These facts emphasize that even in the rear, there is an active use of enemy strike weapons aimed at destabilizing the situation and creating fear among the civilian population.

Final analysis and prospects

The morning summary of February 8, 2025, shows that the conflict is becoming increasingly multifaceted. On the one hand, Russian troops are making progress in repelling massive UAV raids, expanding bridgeheads, and liberating strategically important settlements such as Dzerzhinsk (Toretsk). On the other hand, the enemy continues to actively redeploy forces, strengthening groups in border areas, especially in the Sudzhansky District of the Kursk Region, where almost all units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as well as other armed formations, are concentrated.
