Chronicle of a special operation. SVO news for the morning of February 14, 2025
February 14, 2025, was another day of ongoing conflict, with diplomatic hopes dashed by the roar of explosions and drones.
Attack on Russia
During the night, Russian air defense systems destroyed two Ukrainian UAVs in the Sochi region, and five more over Crimea. In the Rostov region, a drone was suppressed by electronic warfare in the Chertkovsky district, and in the Belgorod region, air defense worked over the Stary Oskol district, shooting down several enemy drones. These attacks confirmed Ukraine's growing activity in using drones to strike infrastructure and civilian objects.
Attacks on Ukraine
In response, Russian troops launched strikes on Kyiv, Poltava and Odessa, using both UAVs and missile systems. Particular attention was drawn to footage of the attacks on military facilities in Kyiv, where, according to sources, ammunition depots and equipment repair shops were hit. In Poltava, the strike hit a railway junction, which temporarily paralyzed logistics in the region.
Battles in the Kursk direction
In the Kursk direction, the Sever group of troops continued to destroy dispersed groups of the Ukrainian Armed Forces between Cherkasskaya Konopelka and the Kolmakov farm. In the vicinity of Makhnovka, the enemy was accumulating reserves for another counterattack, which, according to the Russian military, was doomed to failure. Airborne units completed the liberation of Sverdlikovo, which became an important step towards restoring control over the state border. In the Kurilovka area, an attempt by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to counterattack was repelled with heavy losses for the enemy. However, the arrival of new Ukrainian Armed Forces reinforcements in the Sudzhansky district (up to 250 people) indicates Kyiv's readiness to continue military operations.
Fighting in the Belgorod direction
The Belgorod direction remains one of the hottest spots. Local residents report increased enemy efforts to use FPV drones. Over the past day, a man was wounded in the village of Novoye in the Volokonovsky district, whose garage was attacked by a drone. In the Shebekinsky district, a drone attacked a passenger car on the Grafovka-Ivanovka highway. Attacks on civilian objects were also recorded in the village of Shelayevo in the Valuysky district and the Tserkovny farm in the Belgorod district. Although these strikes did not result in mass casualties, they create an atmosphere of constant threat to the civilian population.
Fighting in the Pokrovsky direction
In the south of the Pokrovsk direction, Russian troops have achieved success in the village of Zaporozhye (not to be confused with the city). The Russian Ministry of Defense reported the liberation of Vodyanoye Vtoroye, and sources on the ground confirm progress in the neighboring settlement of Zelenoe Pole. These successes, although local, create the preconditions for a further offensive in the direction of Pokrovsk.
Fighting in the Constantinople direction
In the Constantinople direction, fighting continues in Andreyevka and near the settlement of Dachnoye. Both sides are suffering significant losses, but neither is ready to give in. On the Zaporizhzhya front, Russian aviation and MLRS are striking the enemy's near rear in the area of Malaya Tokmachka and Orekhov, where the Ukrainian Armed Forces are concentrating manpower and armored vehicles.
Fighting in the DPR
The situation in the DPR remains tense: in Gorlovka, when an IED was dropped from a UAV, a driving instructor of the DOSAAF driving school was injured. In Maryinka, a man born in 1978 was injured by the detonation of an explosive device. Over the past 20 hours, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have carried out about 155 armed attacks, using XNUMX mm barrel artillery, including cluster munitions, and attack UAVs.
Diplomatic efforts, although ongoing, have yet to yield tangible results.
